Winter 2012
Hello Colorado!
I write to you snuggled beneath a blue blanket as white puffy flakes decorate the air outside my window. It’s one of those days I’m glad to be a writer and hunker down at home instead of venturing on snowy roads.
January included lots of firsts for me—my first time running a board meeting with ACFW Colorado, my first time working with data bases and Excel spreadsheets for ACFW Colorado, my first submission of a completed, contracted manuscript, and my first serious car accident. (That last one I could do without!)
It’s my hope that 2012 will bring lots of firsts for ACFW Colorado as well. Our previous coordinator, Margie Vawter, did a fantastic job laying a strong foundation for our membership to build upon. Thank you, Margie, for your prayerful, solid leadership.
As I take the reins from Margie’s very capable hands, I find myself excited about the future, but also humbled by the responsibility before me. As part of a small group of writers who prays together regularly, I’ve been praying for ACFW Colorado for years. All of us in that group have a sense of God’s movement and blessing on this organization and find ourselves waiting in breathless anticipation for what He is going to do. He has a plan, and ACFW Colorado is part of it!
Though I’ve met many of you beautiful people, not all of us are acquainted. I’ve put together an introduction below so you can know a little more about me, but what’s more important than who I am is who WE are as ACFW Colorado and what God wants to do with us. Starting today I’m posting a series called “Member Mondays” on our newly relaunched blog, The Inkwell. Please take a few minutes each Monday to read in detail where I believe God is taking ACFW CO, and check out my article for a synopsis of my vision for this group, including several tools (old and new!) for helping us reach this goal.
Sign up now for the ACFW Colorado retreat! Our speaker this year is best-selling author, Kim Sawyer. Kim has a powerful testimony and huge heart. You won’t want to miss this amazing opportunity. Look for more information below.
We love our local chapters and the support and teaching they offer. If you are in Ft. Morgan, Colorado Springs, south Denver or north Denver, we have a group for you! But what if you don’t live near a local chapter? We want to help you connect with resources here in Colorado. For more information read my vision article below.
Interested in a local chapter, but don’t have one near you? If you’re in the Mead, Loveland, Ft. Collins, or Greeley area, watch for information on a get-together in your area to pursue the idea of establishing a prologue chapter. If you’re not in that area, but would be interested in a local chapter, email me and let’s talk!
As you may have surmised, I’m passionate about what God is going to do through ACFW Colorado. Together we will impact our world for eternity.
Wow.
For you and Him...
